The entire experience took approximately 4 to 5 hours and included hiking, driving between locations, exploring the coastline, and documenting every part of the adventure. Frolicking Around Kinbane Castle

We began the day at Kinbane Castle under clear blue skies with strong coastal winds sweeping across the cliffs. As we made our way down the steep staircase toward the castle ruins, the landscape felt wild and untouched. The wind coming off the Atlantic Ocean was a reminder of just how rugged and beautiful the Causeway Coast can be.

Exploring Whitepark Bay Beach

As the day continued and we explored Whitepark Bay Beach, the weather shifted once again. The winds softened, the skies opened up, and for a while it felt like the perfect summer day. Courtney and Evan spent the afternoon walking along the beach, taking in the views, laughing together, and simply enjoying the experience without any timelines or expectations pulling them in different directions.

Visiting Giant’s Causeway

By the time we arrived at Giant’s Causeway, Northern Ireland had transformed once again (this is normal by the way!) The bright skies gave way to dark, moody clouds and a light rain began to fall over the coastline. Instead of taking away from the experience, it made it even more memorable. The dramatic weather created an atmosphere that felt uniquely Northern Ireland and perfectly reflected the adventurous spirit of the day.

One of my favorite things about this elopement was watching Courtney and Evan fully embrace every part of the experience. They weren’t worried about the wind, the changing weather, or keeping their clothes perfectly clean. They were focused on being present with each other.

The Elopement Route

Kinbane Castle

The day began at Kinbane Castle, in my opinion, this is one of the most breathtaking elopement locations in Northern Ireland.

The castle is perched on a narrow limestone peninsula along the Causeway Coast, and overlooks these dramatic cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean. Reaching the castle requires hiking down a steep staircase, but I promise the views are more than worth the effort.

One of my favorite things about Kinbane is how secluded it feels. Once you make your way down the steps, you’re surrounded by a rugged coastline, towering cliffs, and the ruins of the castle itself.

For couples dreaming of a Causeway Coast elopement, Kinbane Castle offers a unique combination of history, adventure, and dramatic scenery that feels completely removed from everyday life.

Kinbane Castle is also free to visit, which makes it an incredible option for couples looking for a stunning ceremony or portrait location in Northern Ireland without additional venue costs.

Whitepark Bay Beach

After exploring Kinbane Castle, we headed to Whitepark Bay Beach.

Whitepark Bay offers a completely different atmosphere from the dramatic cliffs of Kinbane. The beach stretches for literal miles and is surrounded by rolling green hills and rugged coastal scenery that Northern Ireland is known for.

The combination of the soft sand, dramatic views, and constantly changing weather creates endless opportunities for beautiful photographs.

Whether you’re walking hand in hand along the shoreline, exchanging private vows, or simply taking in the scenery together, Whitepark Bay is one of the most underrated elopement locations in Northern Ireland.

Giant’s Causeway

The final stop was Giant’s Causeway, one of the most iconic landmarks in Northern Ireland.

It’s known for its unique basalt rock formations and dramatic coastal scenery, Giant’s Causeway is unlike anywhere else in the world.

Because it is one of Northern Ireland’s most visited attractions, timing is incredibly important. I always recommend visiting either before the visitor center opens or after it closes to avoid crowds to create a more intimate experience.

One helpful tip is to park in the free parking area nearby and use the walking path that connects to the visitor center and cliff trails.

The combination of ocean views, towering cliffs, and the famous stone formations makes Giant’s Causeway an unforgettable location to end a Northern Ireland elopement day.
